“Lineo, Inc., a leading developer of embedded Linux system
software, today announced a collaboration with Hitachi
Semiconductor (America) Inc., to combine Lineo Embedix Linux
software with Hitachi’s SuperH RISC processors. The
collaboration will enable manufacturers to develop devices and
technologies such as wireless-enabled handhelds and car information
systems at a low-cost while maintaining high performance,
innovation and profitability.
Hitachi SuperH processors
benefit consumers today with devices that provide information
access, communication, entertainment and mobile commerce.”

excellent operating system for all kinds of embedded devices,” said
Bryan Sparks, CEO of Lineo, Inc. “Hitachi SuperH processors and
Lineo Embedix Linux will help automate the every day life of

broadband services to customers including such products as smart

appliances. Hitachi SuperH processors are currently used in such
