Linux-based solutions, today announced that the company has named
Robert Russo as general manager and executive vice president of
worldwide operations. Russo will report directly to Dr. Larry M.
Augustin, president and CEO of VA Linux Systems.”

Robert Russo brings more than 30 years of experience to VA
Linux Systems. Mr. Russo served for over six years as senior vice
president of worldwide field operations at Synopsys, a leading
supplier of EDA software tools and services.
At Synopsys, Mr.
Russo helped grow annual revenues from $100 million to nearly $900
million. Prior to that, Mr. Russo served as general manager of the
entry level systems division at Cray Research, a developer of
mini-supercomputers.”
