PRNewswire: XETA Technologies and Elastic Networks Form Strategic Alliance

“XETA Technologies (Nasdaq: XETA) has entered into a preliminary
agreement to form a strategic alliance with Elastic Networks. The
companies plan to offer the lodging industry a single hardware
platform that includes both XETA’s Virtual XL(R) Series Call
Accounting System and Elastic’s Yesware Software solutions for
High-Speed Internet Access. With this alliance, hoteliers can
purchase a single hardware platform, yet profit from two
revenue-enhancing pieces of Linux-based software.

“In February 2000, XETA announced a strategic partnership with
Louisville- based service provider Darwin Networks to offer the
Elastic high-speed DSL (Digital Subscriber Line) Internet access
technology to the hospitality industry. The new alliance between
XETA and Elastic will further enhance this offering as it
simplifies the equipment, maintenance and purchase for the
hotelier. Also, with both pieces of software running on Linux
operating systems, the combination of the two technologies onto a
single hardware platform is a natural fit.”

“We’ve taken two excellent systems and made them even better,”
said Don Reigel, President of XETA’s Lodging Division. “Because
both call accounting and high-speed Internet access will increase
revenue, the pairing of the two results is a profitable venture for
any hotelier.”
