There is now an integrated development environment for squeak available for the KDE desktop.

From the KDE
Website
:

Squeak is an open,
highly-portable Smalltalk-80 implementation whose virtual machine
is written entirely in Smalltalk. To achieve portability Squeak
does not support native widgets. This is unfortunate since
Smalltalk is a wonderful object oriented language. Hence,
QTalk
is an effort to build a rapid application environment
using the QT and KDE widget set and the Squeak object engine.
QTalk’s objective is to build an integrated development tool which
fits completly into the KDE environment and which allows the fast
development of KDE applications. An experimental first release can
be downloaded
