Yelp 2.5.4
Yelp 2.5.4:
“Amber”
I’m pleased to announced the “Amber” release of Yelp, which has
been anticipated highly by 15 year-olds the world over.
What is it?
“World’s best bike.”
Yelp is the default help browser for GNOME 2. Yelp can read help
files in HTML or DocBook format.
What’s
changed?
“I’m a loner, Dottie. A rebel.”
- Massive amount of mind-numbing work in fixing various scrolling
issues, including pages loading at the bottom of the page (#131305)
and not scrolling to anchors (#93721). (Shaun McCance) - Build fix in yelp-window.c. (Mikael Hallendal)
- Handle mailto: URIs correctly again. (Shaun McCance)
- Fix double history problem on first page of a document. (Shaun
McCance) - Fix history problem for any external links. (Shaun
McCance) - Some stylistic changes to the stylesheets. (Shaun McCance)
- Don’t leak massive amounts of memory in yelp-window.c. (Shaun
McCance) - Nicer automatic chunk depth determination. (Shaun McCance)
- Handle XInclude properly. (Shaun McCance)
- Work around libxml2 bug (now fixed, but I don’t want to depend
on that recent of a version) which caused the TOC not to get loaded
if there was a single bad OMF file. (Shaun McCance) - Allow relative paths to file on the command line. (Shaun
McCance) - Updated translations: az (Mœtin Œmirov) cs
(Miloslav Trmac) da (Ole Laursen de (Christian Neumair) el (Kostas
Papadimas) es (Francisco Javier F. Serrador) fr (Christophe Merlet)
ga (Alastair McKinstry) hu (Andras Timar) ja (Takeshi AIHANA) ko
(Changwoo Ryu) lt (Zygimantas Berucka ms (Hasbullah Bin Pit) nl
(Vincent van Adrighem) no (Kjartan Maraas) pl (Artur Flinta) pt
(Duarte Loreto) pt_BR (Estêvão Samuel Procópio)
sq (Laurent Dhima) sr (Danilo Šegan) sr@Latn (Danilo
Šegan) sv (Christian Rose)
What’s wrong?
“C’mon, Simone. Let’s talk about your big but.”
The 2.5.x series do not have working man and info converters, so
these will be regressions in the stable 2.6 releases. SGML support
has also been dropped, due to dropped support in libxml2.
Where can I get
it?
“There’s no basement in the Alamo!”

GNOME User Documentation 2.5.0
GNOME User Documentation
2.5.0
IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!
Please read this release announcement if you maintain any component
which links to the GNOME User Guide.
Version 2.5.0 of the GNOME User Documentation has been released.
This release does not yet have updated content for 2.6. The only
change in this release is that the GNOME User’s Guide is now
installed as a single document, rather than by chapter.
Any links (including Help buttons in applications) which point
to the old wgos* documents should now be updated to point to
user-guide. This release creates symlinks to user-guide.xml for
each wgos* file that was in previous releases, so links may still
work correctly. However, your links will only go to the correct
location in the document if you are using an anchor in a URL, or
passing a string for the link_id argument in the
gnome_help_display_ functions.
Please, update all links and buttons to the User Guide.

GGV 2.5.3
“Race”, the one and only PostScript viewer for real men!
Actually, it’s just as good (even more, GGV prefers to be
handled by feminine clicks!) for women, but it sounds better when
you put it the way it is put above…
Now, what does it bring to users of both sexes?
Fixes for the Save dialog issues (#131656), some sanity checks
that will prevent crashes for those braven enough to compile the
libs without sanity checks, properly quoted m4 defines in
acinclude.m4 and a number of updated translations: Serbian
(Danilo), Czech (Miloslav), Japanese (Takeshi), Polish (GNOME PL
