Hi there, this is Erdem, SamyGO project founder.
(http://samygo.sf.net) We proudly present a DTS codec for Samsung B
series. We have a contest for it for a time and now we have a
winner.

Samsung TVs has running linux OS and a closed source program
inside. We are a (legal) hacker group to hack Samsungs TVs
firmwares. And I think we are quite successful on this job.

Samsung B series suffers about DTS codec for a long time. At C
series TVs, there is a DTS codec but Samsung does not put a DTS
codec in B series TV.(We guess for forcing users to buy new C
series.)

But now we have a free and opensource solution to that problem.
A hack injects functions from new ffmpeg library to TVs main
program (exeDSP) and use it for recognize DTS stream, than stream
is converted to PCM via libDCA.(or with ffmpeg library if you
remove libDCA library from application). Than downmixed to stereo
to TVs speakers. TVs cpu gets busy about the process, so remote
controller a bit unresponsive but it’s worth for it. TVs CPU could
handle even 7.1 DTS sounds properly.

We do not test this hack with external 5.1 speakers due lack
equipment yet.

This hack does not require any firmware change, its just program
that runs from content manager of TV. It compatible whole B series
that can play movies.

I think its worth for every Samsung B series TV owners.

Thanks and best regards.
