“In the past, Microsoft has publicly scoffed at the notion that
Linux, the upstart operating system that has attracted huge media
coverage and technological acclaim, poses any threat to its
Windows-based hegemony.

“Not anymore.

“The Redmond software giant has formed a task force of marketers
and engineers to counter what it now regards as a potent threat,
according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Microsoft refused
to comment on the report.”
