“With Halloween just around the corner, who better to hook up
with than esr, the man who unmasked the masters of FUD? We put a
few questions to the preeminent Open Source analyst/advocate by
email. His replies appear below.

“Skepticism about Open Source is usually thought of as a suit
thing. Have you encountered much skepticism among developers –
whether about practical aspects of Open Source development, its
overall economic viability, or their own ability to make a living
at it?

Occasionally I do run into such skepticism. Far more often,
however, I’m told that my advocacy of open source gives voice to
deep misgivings the speaker has long held about closed-source
development but has been unable to articulate himself.
