Sm@rt Reseller: CA Pledges Linux Support

“We’re offering Linux developers the opportunity to develop with
Ingres for free,” says Don LeClair, CA vice president of
information management marketing.

According to CA officials, the Ingres II Linux edition is a full
copy of the Ingres II database engine, complete with core database
functions such as variable page size, row-level locking, support
for binary large objects (BLOBs), and interfaces for C. In
addition, the new RDBMS is intended to be fully compatible with
other versions of Ingres II.
