“Softway Systems, Inc., makers of Interix(TM), the only complete
software environment that enables UNIX(R) system applications to
run on Windows NT(TM) and Windows 2000(TM), today announced over
forty of the most popular UNIX and Linux open source applications
are available immediately via download from the tool warehouse on
the Interix web site. The release of these popular open source
programs for the Interix environment enhances the value of the
platform and experience for users wanting to combine the facilities
and features found on traditional UNIX systems with the services
and software available for Microsoft Windows NT.

‘Because of Interix’s ease-of-use and completeness as a UNIX
environment, porting these open source applications was quick and
painless,’ said Jim Truher, Director of Customer Engineering,
Softway Systems, Inc. ‘By bringing UNIX applications to NT using
Interix customers can take advantage of the available UNIX
resources in the market.'”
