“Reflecting on Linux World, I can’t help but be astonished how
far we’ve come: oh sure, the ancestor of PostgreSQL (the Berkeley
postgres project) was around from almost the dawn of the modern
database management system. And yes, of course, it’s been an open
source project since 1996. But to the best of my knowledge we, the
community, have been going to trade shows for less than 12 months
now. As well, as recounting our successes at Linux World, this
article is meant to guide those individuals manning a PostgreSQL
booth in the near future…”
