“The final-year Information Technology students at Kuttippuram
MES College of Engineering have developed a new installer for GNU
operating system. The GNU is the operating system envisaged by Free
Software Foundation and is composed entirely of free software.

“The new installer ‘LX installer’ was developed based on a
microkernel architecture. The 15-member group, comprising four
girls and 11 boys, had taken nearly an year to develop the new
