Tcl/Tk 8.2 is the latest version of Tcl/Tk. We’ve added a number
of features this year that make Tcl the pre-eminent scripting
language for enterprise applications. These are described on our

New Tcl/Tk 8.2 Features
The new features in Tcl/Tk 8.2 include:
- First implementation of Tcl Extension Architecture (TEA)
- Trf patch for stacked I/O channels, which allows the SSL and
other channel extensions to work; - DDE patch that provides the poke command
- New procedures for manipulating strings that offer substantial
performance improvements - Tcl test harness is now a loadable package
