large Open Source project. But do they work, and how

” The most famous Open Source philosophy is “Release Early,
Release Often”. This is the philosophy adopted by the Linux Kernel
folk, for example. However, there are plenty of other approaches,
too. “CVS for the Developers, Stable Tarballs for the Users” is
another. Here, the idea is to only allow developers access to the
most recent sources and constrict users only to polished
products.
