“Network-management software kingpin Computer Associates
International is helping lead the charge to learn more about the
manageability of Linux in the enterprise.

The MERIT Project (Maximizing Efficiency of Resources in
Information Technology), which CA helps direct as a charter member,
is planning to conduct a survey at CA World from July 18 to July 23
to gather data on manageability of Linux in the enterprise.”

“The… Survey seeks to uncover new opportunities to beef up the
manageability of Linux platforms, as well as to quantify the
implications of application outages. …also will examine
intentions for deploying management products on Linux, including
point solutions and integrated enterprise management suites.”
