“As PC Expo opened here Tuesday, some of the show attendees who
make billion-dollar decisions on what technology to use in business
are considering whether free software is worth the price.”

“In a random poll of corporate IT users attending the trade
show, some said the Linux operating system is starting to become
more important, slowly seeping into a diverse range of
environments, from college libraries to banks.”

“It’s part of the Unix tradition, so it brings the stability
that Unix offers,” said Omar Zambrana, a systems administrator with
Deutche Bank, in Hamshaw, Pa. Deutche Bank has not installed Linux,
but is considering it as vendors and developers offer it on
computers and make applications that use it, Zambrana said.”
