“Computer games designed for the Linux operating system are
important in spurring the growth of the free-software industry,
said the CEO of a leading Linux vendor.

“Games demonstrate the power of the operating system,” said
Robert Young, the chairman of privately held Red Hat Software, at
the Linux Expo trade show here in Raleigh, N.C., Thursday.

“There are an estimated 10 million to 17 million Linux users.
Loki Entertainment, based in Tustin, Calif., has just announced it
has ported the new Civilization game to the Linux system.

for Linux is a 13-year-old boy playing networked Doom over the
Internet.”
