The Mining Company: The Big Leagues

Thanks to Ken Oster for this
link.

The Mining Company has a very good article on Linux making it to
the big leagues.

Talks about Dell, HP, Compaq, IBM, Intel, etc and their
increased commitment to Linux…

“Both the corporate hardware and the corporate software now
exist; the Linux office server is quickly becoming reality rather
than wishful thinking. The million dollar question is whether or
not Linux will live up to the hype and become a permanent and
central fixture in a sizable percentage of corporate installations.
At least now, many more IT managers will be able and willing to
give Linux a try.

And that Windows guy who just won’t shut up about how Linux will
never amount to anything and has no place in your company? Maybe
the boss will tell him to clam up when the new batch of IBM Linux
servers arrives.”
