Thunderbird Still Has Potential to Fly Despite Developers Leaving the Nest

“Mozilla is in the process of creating a new
subsidiary–currently dubbed MailCo–that will manage and direct
the ongoing development of Mozilla’s Thunderbird e-mail client.
Although the goal behind the creation of MailCo is to give the
Thunderbird project unprecedented room for growth, the only two
full-time contributors have decided to leave the nest.
