[ Thanks to Cedric GODART
for this link. ]

Little information is available at this time, but apparently the
final version of Netscape 7.0 is now sitting in tarball form on
Netscape’s FTP server.

No official announcment has been made, so treat this release
accordingly. Linux Today staff members have downloaded and
installed the new release and have confirmed that it is indeed
version 7.0 final. (Reported version is Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux
i686; en-US; rv:1.0.1) Gecko/20020823 Netscape/7.0.)

As more information arrives, this story will be updated. User
comments on the new release are certainly welcome in the
Talkbacks.

[Evidently, Netscape has decided to deny further downloads
of this new software. Thanks to reader Jerry Kreps for discovering
the shut down. -ed.]
