VNU Net: Citrix comes out of the shadows

“Citrix has snubbed its main partner Microsoft by moving
to
support other operating systems. The company has been
closely linked with the software giant which uses Citrix software
to link thin client devices to a central server running Windows NT
Terminal Server Edition. But last week Citrix said it wanted to
broaden its presence across the Application Service Provider (ASP)
industry and embrace Unix, Linux and Java.”

“IDC analyst Dan Kusnetzky said: ‘We have been concerned that
Citrix was living in an NT server-centric world. If ASPs change the
way people do business, NT will not necessarily be the host
operating system for the services.’ “
