A little-known programming language with a quirky name is
stealthily creeping its way into the mainstream, with a nudge from
Disney, IBM, and Paul Allen’s Interval Research lab.
“What’s going on [with Squeak] is a motion toward an environment
where you have separate areas to explore — large number behaviors,
3D graphics, musical synthesizers – and yet all in a uniform,
general, powerful framework,” said Mark Guzdial, an assistant
professor at Georgia Tech’s College of Computing.
