Peter Santoro introduces two software tools for Linux (also
available for download from the author’s Web site) that help in
viewing and navigating Large EDI data files.

“Large EDI data files are inherently difficult to view and
navigate in an ASCII editor. This article presents two software
tools that can be used to assist the EDI analyst with these tasks.
The software tools were developed on the Linux 2.0.x platform using
the GNU gcc compiler. Source code, similar to that discussed in
this article, is being used to increase the productivity of error
detection and correction of a client’s large, incoming EDI data
files. This source code can also be used as a starting point for
your own EDI work.”
