at the comments in any chunk of Linux code will show. But those in
the anti-Microsoft camp have taken it to their hearts and are
pouring millions of dollars into making it a viable and respectable
alternative for the enterprise.

Over the last six months there’s been plenty of evidence of
mainstream adoption, even though it’s mostly as a host for Apache.
Linux patently works–it does what it says on the tin. And the
successive evolutions have all been in the right direction.

However, some of the claims made by Linux vendors are
unsupportable. It doesn’t constitute an alternative to Windows on
the desktop, largely because the applications aren’t there. Why
would anyone abandon MS Office for StarOffice?”
