ZDNet: Study: Developers Wary of Linux

“North American programmers less likely to use open-source
OS.”

“48 percent of North American developers would not use Linux for
mission-critical applications. Just over one-third of the
respondents said they would “probably” or “absolutely” use Linux
for mission-critical apps.”

“According to the North American survey, intranet or Web app
developers are most gung-ho on Linux, with over half saying they
would deploy mission-critical apps on the open-source OS. At the
other end of the spectrum, developers of enterprise-wide corporate
apps expressed the least confidence in Linux.”
