“Eric Raymond is a programmer who’s become one of the leading
evangelists of the open source movement that’s given birth to the
Linux operating system. He describes himself as an anthropologist
of the loosely knit community of developers who, on their own, have
tinkered away at the increasingly popular alternative OS. He
effectively acts as the open source movement’s marketing
co-ordinator: It was Raymond who led the “rebranding” exercise that
made “open source” a mainstream term. ZDNN caught up with him at
the LinuxWorld show in San Jose this week.”
