“SGI Japan Ltd. entered the Linux market on July 6, as it
has joined hands with application venders and system integrators to
develop and sell packages comprising hardware, Linux, applications,
consulting as well as SI services and user education.”

“The company plans to market about 10 packages annually and
accounting for about 15 percent of sales in fiscal 2001 (July 2000
through June 2001) coming from the Linux-related business.
Furthermore, in fiscal 2002, it hopes to raise the ratio of
Linux-related sales to about 50 percent of its total.”

“Under this plan, SGI Japan arranged affiliations with Niws Co.,
Ltd., UDB Japan Co. Ltd., Otsuka Shokai Co., Ltd. and 10art-ni
Corp., and it put two types of packaged products on the market. One
is “SGI e-Linux Pack (EC1)” for the construction of e-commerce
systems and the other is an ERP system called “SGI e-Linux Pack
(ERP1) Hyper Smile alpha.”
