“Atipa Linux Solutions, best recognized as one of the first
dedicated Linux solutions companies, today announced the
implementation of a 200+ node cluster system with a compute server
capable of .5 teraflops in peak floating point performance and
utilizing Red Hat Linux operating systems (NASDAQ:RHAT). Longtime
customer Motorola (NYSE: MOT) will use the cluster system to
enhance its atomic and device scale modeling to develop next
generation semiconductor devices.”
“By using Atipa’s cluster system, the turn around time for some
of our simulations will go down from days to hours,” said Roland
Stumpf, senior research engineer, Motorola Computational Materials
Group. “We will be able to simulate bigger, more realistic models
than was possible before.”
