“IBM on Tuesday expanded the clustering capability of its server
offerings to Linux and certain Unix platforms via a software
application that takes advantage of the company’s SP supercomputer
system management and file system technology.”

“The new offerings, code-named Blue Hammer, allow the control of
up to 32 eServer rack systems from a single workstation, says Dave
Turek, vice president of deep computing for IBM’s Web servers.”

“The software currently operates on IBM’s AIX platform and on
high-end servers, including the SP technical computing line, the
P680 and the S80, Turek says. It will be available next month for
the company’s M80 and H80 lines. On the Linux side, Blue Hammer
will be available for IBM’s x330 Intel-based servers in May, Turek
says.”
