Critical Computing capability by exceeding the 20,000 SD benchmark
user milestone worldwide for the first time and setting a new
performance standard using high-end PRIMEPOWER UNIX and PRIMERGY
LINUX-based servers to deliver the highest levels of
scalability.”

R/3 SD Standard Application Benchmark record was based on a
PRIMEPOWER 2000 64-way Solaris-based server, PRIMERGY four-way
Intel-based servers running LINUX, EMC storage solution, an Oracle
database, the latest SAP R/3 V.4.6B release and extensive data
center, LAN integration and implementation support from Siemens
Business Services. The combination of a Solaris central server and
LINUX-based clusters has proved extremely effective, requiring just
two part-time technicians to monitor the LINUX clusters. The
PRIMERGY servers running LINUX have also demonstrated very high
levels of availability, with no reboots necessary since the initial
configuration.”
