“The next-generation Globus Toolkit that will combine Grid
technology with Web services is expected to be released in alpha
form January 13 at the GlobusWorld conference in San Diego.

“The alpha release of Globus Toolkit 3.0 (GT3) is expected to be
followed by a beta release in late April and an official release in
late June, according to Globus Project materials. GT3 will
implement the Open Grid Services Architecture vision for the
convergence of Grid computing and Web services, an effort that
began with the open-source Globus Project and IBM and grew into a
broader effort of the standards-setting Global Grid Forum…”
