“On February 7, the CHiC massive parallel Linux cluster with
2,152 processors distributed across 538 server nodes went into
operation in Chemnitz. The new Revision F generation of AMD’s
Opteron CPUs, which support DDR2 RAM and AMD’s “Secure Virtual
Machine (SVM) virtualization technology, are used. Infiniband is
used to connect the nodes, which are equipped with IBM server
boards.
