How VMware Is Advancing Kubernetes Cloud-Native Technology With Heptio

The open-source Kubernetes container orchestration system is increasingly becoming a core foundational component that enables the emerging multi-cloud world.

It’s a world that VMware is positioning itself to take a leading role in, thanks in part to the acquisition of Heptio, which is a firm that was created by the founders of Kubernetes itself. VMware announced the acquisition in November 2018 and closed the deal a month later. In a video interview with eWEEK, Craig McLuckie, co-founder of Heptio and Paul Fazzone SVP of Cloud-Native Apps at VMware detail what is needed to make Kubernetes even more successful and where the future of cloud-native is headed.
