“While every company’s sales materials tout the unique benefits
of its products, most consumers want more tangible evidence than
words alone can provide. For Worklab Technologies, a German
e-business solutions developer founded in 1996, providing tangible
evidence means allowing potential customers to see and experience
live examples of its solutions. With 25 employees on the team,
Worklab provides e-business consulting to banks and other financial
institutions as well as Internet solutions for mid-size
companies.”

“An IBM Business Partner, Worklab develops its solutions with
IBM e-business products such as IBM DB2 Universal Database for
Linux, Lotus Notes and Lotus Domino. In addition, Worklab runs its
own business-to-consumer (B-to-C) e-commerce sites. Part of the
reason for doing this is to demonstrate the IBM technology used in
Worklab’s other solutions-turnkey Internet hosting packages that
allow businesses to deploy an e-business solution quickly and
cost-effectively.”

“We wanted to partner with IBM because its e-business strategy
is very similar to Worklab’s strategy,” says Marcelo Krebber,
Worklab’s chief executive officer. “For instance, IBM is playing an
important role in its support of cutting-edge technologies such as
Linux and Java, both of which are vital to our success.” …
Explaining Worklab’s product choices, Krebber says, “…IBM’s
offering of DB2 Universal Database for Linux has helped make Linux
a viable platform in the industry for companies of all
sizes.”
