One of the first things that users will notice is the new Mageia welcome screen. The basic idea behind the welcome screen is to provide new users with an easier way to get into the system and access Mageia resources and information.
Under the hood, Mageia is powered by the Linux 3.12 kernel, which first debuted in November. Support for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) also lands in Mageia 4 although it is currently only considered experimental. In this slide show, eWEEK takes a look at the features of the new Mageia 4 release.
