Memphis Business Journal: Landmark Grant Latest Prize for Institute

“Houston-based Landmark Graphics Corp. has granted $2.6 million
in integrated software and services for geosciences research at
FedEx Technology Institute at the University of Memphis.

“The grant will support in-depth research and enhance
instruction of cross disciplines at the Institute’s Center for
Spatial Analysis, the Center for Earthquake Research and
Information, the Department of Earth Sciences and the Ground Water
Institute. This is the first entirely Linux-based exploration and
production software grant to be awarded by Landmark and it allows
students and researchers at the university to engage in research
not previously possible.

“This includes processing and studying seismic reflection data,
visualizing the geology and ongoing earthquake activity within the
New Madrid seismic zone and visualizing the geology beneath the
central Mississippi River Valley…”
