“SteelEye Technology Inc., an emerging leader in reliability
platforms for Linux-based applications, and Caldera Systems Inc.
(Nasdaq: CALD), a Linux for eBusiness technology leader, announced
today that SteelEye’s LifeKeeper reliability clustering product
has been certified on Caldera OpenLinux eDesktop and eServer
platforms. In addition, SteelEye’s clustering products will be
demonstrated during Caldera’s upcoming OpenLinux Power Solutions
Tour 2000.”

“SteelEye was selected as the only high-availability (HA)
clustering solution provider for the roadshow and is joining a
vendor list that includes Sun Microsystems, IBM, Lotus, Compaq, and
Tarantella. The OpenLinux Power Solutions Tour is a series of
customer-focused forums that will take place throughout North
America in July, 2000. The tour targets are ASPs, ISPs, resellers,
consultants and corporate IT professionals who build and support
the Internet infrastructure for E-Commerce.”

“A Dataquest study predicts that by 2003 Linux servers will
represent 24 percent of the specialized server market worth a
projected $3.8 billion,” said Dean Taylor, vice president of
marketing for Caldera Systems Inc. “These specialized servers will
need solutions like SteelEye’s LifeKeeper fault-resilient
clustering that keep the servers up and available. With the help of
companies like SteelEye on the Power Solutions Tour, Caldera is
positioned to deliver a number of specialized server
solutions.”
