“The iSCSI protocol is a storage area network (SAN)
protocol which allows iSCSI initiators to use storage devices on
the (remote) iSCSI target using normal ethernet cabling. To the
iSCSI initiator, the remote storage looks like a normal,
locally-attached hard drive.”
