VMworld 2018 Europe: VMware Boosts Server, Cloud, Container Efforts

VMware kicked off its VMworld 2018 Europe event on Nov. 6 with a flurry of announcements containing a strong focus on helping to enable the emerging world of cloud native, container-based services.

Among the news highlights, VMware announced the acquisitions of privately-held Kubernetes vendor Heptio, which was founded by the co-founders of the Kubernetes project. Building on its commitment to Kubernetes, VMware Cloud Foundation 3.5 was announced providing an integrated hybrid cloud offering. Rounding out VMware’s announcements, the company detailed enhanced partnerships with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and IBM to help further accelerate cloud adoption.
