AllLinuxDevices: LinkUp Systems L7200 System Development Board to Support PalmPalm Tynux OS

LinkUp Systems Corp., providers of `System-on-Silicon’
processor plus peripherals solutions for the Internet appliance and
consumer electronics market, and PalmPalm Technology, a leader in
embedded Linux, today announced that the LinkUp L7200 system
development board will support PalmPalm’s Tynux Linux-based
operating system (OS).

“LinkUp Systems supplies the L7200 processor plus peripherals
family, designed for creating Internet appliances such as Pocket
PCs, Web phones, wireless Internet terminals, smart cellular
phones, and embedded products. Products in the L7200 family include
an ARM720T processor core, an integrated DSP, and many key
peripherals on a single chip such as LCD controllers, SDRAM
controllers, a FLASH memory, smart card and Multimedia card
interfaces, a DMA controller and several serial interfaces.”

“PalmPalm supplies embedded Linux system integration in Korea
for smartphones, screen phones, set-top boxes and other Internet
appliance applications. PalmPalm’s embedded Linux, Tynux, is a
full-featured, highly-stable 32-bit operating system. Tynux
provides fast real-time capability and advanced power conservation
to systems designers, while optimizing use of memory resources and
the Linux kernel. The Tynux kernel will run in less than 500K of
RAM, and provides APM and ACPI-like power management for
battery-operated devices.”
