There are real reasons to choose Linux in some cases….
There is a very mature and capable Web application server that
runs not only on Linux but on Windows as well… called PHP….
[which] lets you do things like creating objects and interacting
with a database (through ODBC or native mechanisms). And it’s open
source.
There is a Linux GUI management interface, which Red Hat
includes in its 5.1 distribution, called linuxconf… [which] is a
rough equivalent of the Windows Control Panel.
The nice thing about linuxconf is that it understands your
current environment: if you launch it from an X terminal, it runs
in graphical mode; if you launch from a Telnet session, it runs as
a text menu-driven application.
