Business Wire: Softboat Inc. to Serve as Japanese Distributor for High C/C++/EC++ and SeeCode Software”

“MetaWare(R) announced today that Softboat Incorporated has
licensed MetaWare’s High C/C++(TM) and SeeCode(TM) technology and
will be the sole distributor of MetaWare’s High C/C++ Toolset and
SeeCode debugger in Japan.

The addition of Softboat to MetaWare’s list of worldwide
distributors will benefit the growing number of developers
targeting the ARM and PowerPC processors in Japan who prefer a
local sales and support department backing their development
efforts. Softboat will provide pre and post sales assistance to
these customers, in addition to offering technical support through
their well-trained engineering staff.

Softboat will license High C/C++/EC++ Toolsets for ARM, PowerPC,
and x86. The Toolsets include a C/C++ and Embedded C++ compiler,
assembler, linker-locator, and run-time libraries with source.
Softboat will also distribute MetaWare’s SeeCode Debugger for the
same target processors. SeeCode enables you to simulate your
program, or debug it running directly on the hardware, and is
OS-aware and fully thread-capable. SeeCode offers separate windows
for each thread, and the ability to set thread-specific breakpoints
and watchpoints. Additionally, MetaWare’s own performance analysis
tool, the Statistical Profiler, is included with each license of
High C/C++. The Statistical profiler captures program specifics
during compile time and displays a complete call tree in an ASCII
text or graphical format that shows code bottlenecks, thus allowing
the developer to better optimize their program.

‘Softboat’s expertise in marketing products to the Japanese
market, combined with MetaWare’s leading-edge technology, will
definitely increase the presence of High C/C++ and SeeCode in
Japan,’ states John Ryal, COO of MetaWare. ‘We look forward to a
long and successful relationship with Softboat.’

‘In the Japanese market, MetaWare’s product line has been
recognized by the top level of developers as the best C/C++
Compiler,’ says Masa H. Tasaki, CEO of Softboat. ‘However, it was
difficult for them to gain a large market share without local
representation. We intend to provide exceptional localized sales,
service and support for High C/C++ and SeeCode to Japanese
developers. I want to be another Mr. Den Fujita, who is the world
wide best partner for McDonald’s, Mr. McDonald Japan.’

‘Our mission for MetaWare is not only to distribute the current
product line to the market,’ stresses Masa H. Tasaki, ‘but to
develop various OEM types of business opportunities for the company
with Japanese CPU manufacturers such as Fujitsu, Toshiba, Sony, and
Matsushita.’ “
