“Motorola Computer Group (MCG), part of Motorola’s (NYSE:MOT)
Integrated Electronic Systems Sector (IESS) and the world’s leading
supplier of embedded computing platforms for original equipment
manufacturers (OEMs), and Linuxcare, Inc., a leading provider of
comprehensive services for Linux and open-source software, today
announced a collaboration to deliver training courses, and
technical, professional and certification services for enterprise
customers worldwide. These courses and services are designed to
facilitate corporate adoption of Linux technology and prepare
students to meet Linux Professional Institute (LPI) certification
standards. The courses are offered globally with training
facilities in Beijing, Munich, New York, Osaka, Shanghai, Tempe,
Ariz. and Tokyo.”
“As a low-cost, open, scalable and highly robust operating
system, Linux is rapidly becoming the operating system of choice,”
said Dan York, president, LPI Board of Directors. “However,
obtaining quality Linux training and support has historically been
difficult. I am pleased that Linuxcare and Motorola have teamed to
provide courses that are designed to facilitate corporate adoption
of Linux technology and prepare students to meet LPI certification
standards.”
“In addition to training enterprise customers on various aspects
of Linux, Motorola offers training for its high availability (HA)
Linux solution for applications that require near constant uptime
— such as Operation Administration & Maintenance (OA&M)
platforms, call servers, IP gateways, gatekeepers and home location
registers. HA Linux is supported by MCG’s broad range of service,
training and systems integration capabilities.”
