“IBM has released the source code for its UDDI for Java (UDDI4J)
technology, which allows e-business applications to communicate
with the UDDI Business Registry. This code is freely available via
IBM’s online resource for developers, developerWorks.”
“UDDI4J, the latest example of IBM’s commitment to open
standards, is a Java API that provides a client-side programmatic
interface to easily access any UDDI registry. The UDDI4J package
can be used to easily develop a Java application that can publish
and find services in a UDDI registry. The client code from the
Apache SOAP release is used to transport messages to and from a
UDDI registry, using SOAP.”
“The UDDI4J technology will be open sourced via IBM’s Public
License, which closely adheres to terms of many of the other
popular open source licenses used by the developer community. The
technology will be housed on IBM developerWorks Open Source Zone, a
designated area for open source projects from both IBM and non-IBM
sources. It can be found at http://oss.software.ibm.com/developerworks/opensource“
