Fairfax: Using windows to rival Windows

An interview with Carsten Haitzler, author of Enlightenment.

“Twenty three-year-old Haitzler won the attention of Red Hat
founder, Marc Ewing, in 1997 following the young programmer’s
invention of the Enlightenment window manager. Ewing invited
Haitzler to Linux Expo in the US before offering him the job
working with Red Hat’s user-interface team at Red Hat Advanced
Development Labs. Haitzler returned to Australia to finish his
final year of university before emigrating to the US, where he now
lives in Chapel Hill, a university town in North Carolina, about 15
minutes from Red Hat’s headquarters.”
