“Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a silent revolution in the field
of education with ‘Headstart’, a computer-enabled programme, at the
elementary level in rural schools.“Headstart, one of the largest computer-enabled education
programmes in the country was initiated by the Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha
Mission (RGSM) of Madhya Pradesh government. The programme is aimed
at making learning process interactive and interesting through
computers in rural schools across the state…“‘However, it is too early to talk about the response of the
students to the programme where it has been launched recently. In
the second phase we have used open source technology in which the
main programme coding is available to all for modification,
customisation and improvement. We are optimistic about its success
too…'”
