Just saw “IBM
Contributes Technology for Developing Multilingual
Applications”, about the release of “IBM Classes for Unicode”.
The referenced press release can also be found at http://ibm.com/linux.
Note in particular the subheading, “New licensing, a
collaboration with the open source community”. There’s now yet
another source license — IBM Public License Version 1.0, first
officially used with ICU.
We are now using this license for Jikes, http://ibm.com/research/jikes/license/license3.htm.
I hope the new license will terminate the concerns of those
worried about the “termination” clause used in the previouse Jikes
licenses.
