Linux Journal: Linux in the Lotus Position

“After claiming that over 26,000 downloads of Domino for Linux
had been made since the Lotus Development Corporation offered a
free preview in August, Lotus is prepared to begin shipping its
Domino Release 5 (R5) server by the end of November…”

“More importantly,” Bisconti added, “Linux has proved to be a
highly reliable and manageable platform for organizations that want
to share information and deploy self-service Web applications.”

This last point, the reliability and manageability of
Linux, seems to be one of the key factors leading up to Lotus
Development Corporation’s decision to release its Domino R5 server
for the Linux operating system.
