It’s official: Lineo is certifiable–for everything from
Web browsers to voice-recognition devices.

“Embedded Linux developer and retailer Lineo, Inc. has launched
an ambitious partnership and certification program aimed at
expanding its customer base and diversifying its software solutions
pool. The Partner ConnectTM program is designed to speed
development of software produced by original equipment
manufacturers (OEMs) for Embedix’s Linux devices. The program will
also streamline the testing and implementation process of the
software on Embedix, getting the eventual product to market
faster.”

“Since acquiring four other embedded device companies in a
matter of months, Lineo is now rounding out its product offerings
by partnering with companies that develop such applications as Web
browsers, instant messaging and databases. Other vendors are
looking at providing handwriting or voice recognition, said Lineo
Public Relations Manager Jennifer Finlinson.”
