“So boys and girls, you want to know all about the new stuff
from Linux Mandrake, eh? Allow me to throw as much info as I can at
you about it.”
“First off, it is massive compared to the 7.0 version. Mandrake
is known to include tons of extras in with their distro. Depending
on who you are, this may be good or bad. (Personally, I would
prefer having it all there from the start.) As you may know, there
is not a single ISO file to download this time, but two. The first
will fill your CDR, (650MB), while the second will on take up about
half, (around 350MB). However, that isn’t all of it. I’ll fill you
in on this a little later.”
“In this version you get three different install options:
Automated, Customized, and Expert. I chose Expert my first time
out. I chose this route mainly because I wanted XFree86 4.0,
(selectable during Expert install only). This would give me a
native version of the new XFree86 which I could the use the NVIDIA
drivers with.”
